by engaging and empowering families and
communities to advocate for all children.

Announcements:

It is with immense sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the devastating news that Scott Overton, our Oregon PTA VP for Legislation, Health and Welfare Committee Chair and an Oregon PTA Past President (2017-2019), passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer.

Scott's untimely departure has left our Oregon PTA family in deep mourning. We know that all those who had the privilege of working alongside him, advocating for the betterment of students, will also feel the weight of this loss.

Scott was an exceptional man who embodied the true essence of advocacy. His dedication to the students and families of Oregon knew no bounds. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly to ensure that every child's potential could be realized. Scott's unwavering passion, enormous heart and gregarious laugh will be dearly missed, leaving a void that will be felt today and for years to come.

As we reflect on Scott's legacy, let us honor his remarkable contributions and the impact he made on countless lives. His dedication, compassion, and relentless pursuit of a brighter future for our students will forever inspire us.

During this difficult time, we extend our deepest sympathies to Scott's family, friends, and loved ones. May they find solace in the memories they shared, and the profound impact Scott had on the educational community.

In memory of Scott Overton, let us commit ourselves to the cause he held so dear. Together, let's continue advocating for the well-being and success of every student, carrying forward his spirit of relentless determination and compassion.

Rest in peace, Scott. Your legacy will forever guide us.
